For an exhibition at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, we created an interactive experience introducing visitors to Lord Ganesha and the traditions surrounding him.

We digitised a real Ganesha statue from the museum’s collection and transformed it into an interactive character visitors could meet through their phones.

The experience invited visitors to feed Ganesha his favourite sweets, discover stories and traditions associated with him, and receive his blessing. They could also take a selfie with the digital Ganesha and share it on social media, extending the experience beyond the museum.

By bringing a real museum object into the digital world, we turned learning about cultural heritage into something visitors could explore, play with and remember.
